LMC DATA SCIENCE
Turning neurobiological data into high-impact scientific results is our expertise
With over nine years of experience in neuroscience researches, working at the intersection of neurobiology, engineering, and data science, our main strength lies in bridging neurobiological understanding with a strong engineering and computational background, including:
-
Analysis and management of large-scale neuroscience datasets
-
Data-driven research pipelines
-
Advanced programming across multiple platforms
-
Quantitative and statistical analysis for experimental research
whatever it is, we got you covered
Recent projects
Prof. SHLOMO WAGNER | Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Haifa
Lear Cohen, who did postdoctoral research in my lab during the last two and a half years, is an excellent researcher and conducts remarkable analyses. He analyzed a huge dataset of neural activity that was produced in my lab and did it in a detailed, creative and skillful manner. Lear is a highly reliable, independent and communicative researcher with superb computational skills. I warmly recommend hiring his services as a data analyst – his work will improve your research and bring it to a new level.
Prof. RONEN SEGEV | Department of Life Sciences, BGU
Lear Cohen did a fantastic job during his PhD in my lab. He designed experimental setups and analysed the resulting data with a very creative and independent approach, turning complex numbers into clear, meaningful insights. Lear is highly effective, and I highly recommend him to elevate any research team.

Education
2013 - 2024
Ben-Gurion University Ph.D
PhD received in 2024, M.Sc. received in 2019, B.SC. received in 2017 with expertise in signal processing. All in the department of biomedical engineering, including six years of neuroscience research in the neural coding lab of Prof. Ronen Segev.

Experience
2024-now
Data science project in a neurobiology lab in HU.
Investigated and analyzed large data set from the PFC of mice while performing social paradigms. Socio-spatial coding schematics showing structural functionality of the PFC were found and published in Cell Reports.
2018-2024
Research leader in a neurobiology lab in BGU.
Investigated how space is represented in the brain of fish, including designing and implanting a specialized waterproof electrophysiology device. Results were published in PLOS Biology and covered in high-profile newspapers around the globe.

About
Lear Cohen received his Ph.D. from the department of Biomedical Engineering, Ben Gurion university of the Negev, Israel. His research, conducted in the neural encoding lab of prof. Ronen Segev, focused on how navigation is enabled using the activity of single neurons in the brain. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in the same department in 2017 and 2019. Lear has an unusual perspective on life, which leads to his everyday choices. He is not using a smartphone, and dedicates most of his time to his family. Nevertheless, creative thinking and working disciplines enabled him to overcome any obstacle on the way to professional success.
